Doug Phelps has always been fascinated by the movies. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, he starting reading screenplays in his early 20s, and moved to Hollywood at 29 to follow his dream. While attending the L.A. Film School, Doug continued to work on his own scripts, submitting over 1,400 query letters to production companies along the
way. Bolstered by some positive response to his ideas, Doug decided to move back to his hometown to film one of his completed works, "A Night at the Cat".

In order to ensure that the film would be completed, Doug took on the challenge of both directing and producing "Cat", as well as playing the lead role as a DJ in a strip club who must face a difficult decision. The film is in it's final stages of post production involving music, touch up editing, and ending credit text. Doug plans to be selling "A Night at the Cat" in early 2009.
